Knoxville's Market Square is a lively testament to the power of a pedestrian plaza. Spaces within the adjacent parking garage cost a mere dollar per hour and all were filled to its sixth floor rooftop Thursday afternoon while happy people ice-skated, shopped, dined and played in the surrounding city center. Many Atlantans have said so and I second every one of them: close Euclid Avenue between Moreland and Colquitt Avenues to traffic and all of us will behold something magical.
