It's been said before and bears repeating: this blog would be much the less without coffee shops. They are the daytime spots to see and be seen. Ever willing to share their creativity, my fellow fashion bloggers have contributed greatly to these pages, too. This delightful post resulted from the efforts of a dapper Octane barista and the author of Sunday's Best Vintage.

Seen At The Jane

Geometric details mark this Gay Gibson dress from the fabulous collection seen in weekly series at Sunday's Best Vintage. According to the Vintage Fashion Guild, that label's name was not a person but a trademark of the Gernes Garment Company in Kansas City, Missouri. Could those mid-twentieth century designers have known their work would endure for the ages?

Of Sunday's Best Vintage, she says: "One dress every Sunday - This little blog was created to photo-document my vintage dress collection. I post a different dress every Sunday when I return from church! Most dresses are from my personal collection, however some will occasionally be for sale." Well lucky readers, that occasion comes 'round tomorrow, when Salvage returns to Ambient Plus Studio.

Rainy Day Style in Grant Park

Dael's Casuals is a popular line of clothing in a distant corner of America that I'd love to visit, Hawaii. Screen printed with highlights of gold and silver, their muʻumuʻu sparkled on a grey Atlanta day. She found it at the Salvation Army in President Obama's favorite beach resort, Kailua. Shoes by Dollhouse were a $5 clearance item at Ross. Some people have all the luck!

Street Scene: That Seventies Look

"Hooray for red, white, & blue!" said she apropos of this election day posting. Dating from an era of tethered telephones, three television networks and small screens on large appliances, her 1970's blouse was thrifted from Ragtime in Asheville. Banana Republic skirt gives it space to make a statment. Aerosoles were "worn all over the north island of New Zealand and they're super comfy." Her vintage Buffy Buffington skirt is a yard sale find that cost one dollar. Value Village provided the sweater. As the butterflies might agree, timing is everything. See more of her great outfits on Sunday's Best Vintage.

Here are but a few of the vendors and attendees from today's Vintage Apparel Market Place. Traditional shopkeepers and etsy entrepreneurs alike welcomed the opportunity to gather for such a stylish crowd. DJ Zano mixed "Runway Sounds" and the popular Good Food Truck became a Trike for this festive occasion. Kudos to Marji Ayati and Jacqueline Stringham for organizing such a wonderful pop-up shop.
