In Old Fourth Ward
It could be said that this blog runs on coffee, so when Condesa reopened today I paid a visit to see the remodeled space at Tribute Lofts. Matt has done a beautiful job on the woodwork, staining it with his own pigments made from nails or steel wool steeped in a variety of vinegars. Like their teas and coffees, some colors are blended while others come from a single origin. Planks so treated are something to behold and complement an array of beverages that soon will include ales and whiskies.

Save The Date: September 9
'Tis time once again for that most civilized parade through Atlanta, the Seersucker Social. Riders will depart from Hand In Hand at 2pm for the meandering urban tour, which concludes with a self-catered picnic in Oakland Cemetery. A symbol of remembrance, rosemary is planted throughout that Victorian garden. Please follow this link for memories of last year's event.

Save The Date: Saturday
For August, Heels on Wheels will be a Lazy Summer Brunch ride leaving from Decatur. Yesterday afternoon on the PATH, we staged a photo op previewing the sort of stylish fun and comraderie for which these rides are known. "Freedom is being in motion. Tonight I biked, danced and laughed with my whole body," said Atlanta Bicycle Coalition Executive Director Rebecca Serna of another day's excursion. Please meet them at Houndstooth Road, 316 Church Street, Saturday at 8:45.

At Serenbe: Belle, Butterflies And Bell
Serenbe Photography Center's new gallery space opens next month with an exhibition called Southern Crescent. Recalling a rainy day last summer in College Park, I submitted this portrait, which was accepted. After delivering the framed work Saturday, I rode through their tranquil countryside. Butterflies were everywhere and when I stopped to make some photos, this one alighted on my bell.
Boots On The Beltline
In a story reminiscent of this posting to my Chattanooga blog, her beloved Ann Taylor boots have been thrice resoled by Cato in Buckhead. Junkman's Daughter was the source of her bag and favorite summer dress, worn here with found sunglasses and earrings from Lucky Exchange.

Living Walls: The City Speaks
You must admire the wit of someone who would paint her face for a bike tour of Atlanta's newest murals. This year's Living Walls artists are all women. A crowd of 200 gathered Sunday afternoon at Lotta Frutta to view tactical urbanism in action. What better way than riding to engage with public art?

Seen In Selborne Lane
Her Old Navy shorts, Banana Republic blouse and Ann Taylor belt came from Honeycombe Consignment. Look to Resource for such bangles and shoes. Both stores are good reasons to visit Serenbe.
