Recently a much-loved shirt from years past became trousers for a small boy. While its collar and cuffs had frayed beyond usefulness to me, enough fabric remained for it to be upcycled into something new. Everywhere collectors, designers, entrepreneurs and stylish folk are celebrating the abundance of what we already have in an eco-chic movement defined by the mantra, reduce, reuse, recycle.
