In Midtown: A City Cyclist Dresses For Work
Her mum fashioned the pleated skirt back in the 1970's and the blouse is another old friend by Jaeger. On this side of the pond, J. Crew provided the shoes and cable knit cashmere sweater. The groovy bead bracelet is a souvenir of Asheville.

Bottega Veneta translates to Venetian atlelier, a name that connotes old world craftsmanship. Long known for its woven leather technique called intrecciato, the company has opened an Atlanta boutique with a party co-hosted by Laura Turner Seydel and Kirk Posmantur. It was a tactile pleasure to be shown the collections. Imaginative forms and delightful colors share the underpinning of exquisite texture, be they leather or fabric. Even linings offer a secret caress that can't help but boost one's confidence. After all, looking smart comes from within.

A Rainy Saturday: Part II
What becomes of your outworn clothing? There was a time I would cut swatches from old favorites before tossing them away. The spirit of our time, reduce, reuse and recycle, offers a charming alternative to the landfill. Thanks to designers like Lionel Lymon and boutiques like Green Pomegranate, a recently retired dress shirt was reborn as a small boy's trousers. That its blue and yellow plaid continues to please someone should be a joy for all of us.

Rocking It Her Way In Virginia-Highland
If a look can exceed the sum of its parts, that synergy results from how someone chooses to wear them. Her jacket is an original from Rollick in Virginia-Highland and made from the sort of stretchy denim often seen as jeggings. Thus it was an easy job to fold the cuffs and push the sleeves back to elbow length. She swapped a tank top (!) for a friend's floral print dress. Today its hem is tucked under the belt for a tunic profile. That buckle came from another pair of boots and adds an asymetrical flourish to this one. Her mother tie-dyed the scarf.

The first location we have scouted is Paris On Ponce. From its BeltLine frontage to the treasures within, this Aladdin's cave promises a world of possibilities. Doesn't Ali resemble an off-duty model from Altamira, one who's not even trying? Just wait 'til she and Blake put their heads together.
