Georgia Tech Bike Week
A small but enthusiastic group of students gathered yesterday at the Ferst Center ampitheater for a display of commuter styles. This being Atlanta, not Amsterdam, helmets are advised. One fellow found their vibe so infectious that joined the parade not only bare headed but shoeless to boot. Best come properly dressed for tonight's Tour de Tech ride with Bud Peterson, 6pm at the Student Center.

Save The Date: Sunday In The Park
Victoriana returns Sunday to Oakland Cemetery, when Atlantans of the new millenium will be transported to a nineteenth century-themed afternoon lawn party offering carriage and walking tours, music, storytelling and crafts. There is even a Teddy Bear Tea for those young enough to suspend belief every day. For the rest of us, Sunday in the Park is a living connection to our city's past.

Cyclists: Save These Dates
All of the Bikes from Alix Huntsman on Vimeo.
So many events, so little time. Blame it on Georgia Tech, whose Bike Week 2011 offers a full calendar of rides, a public forum and even a fashion show on Thursday at 11am. Event anthem All Of The Bikes features the many talents of frequent ASF contributor Heidi Vreeland. After Friday's Tour de Tech, ride over to Candler Park for cLiPs Of Faith, the traveling film festival produced by New Belgium Brewing. An example of their iconic cruiser will be raffled to raise money for the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, whose Heels On Wheels ride Saturday opens the month of October with a flourish.
