A Day On The Beltline: Southwest Atlanta
Friday's steady downpour postponed this week's Beltline walk one day for the trail to dry. We gathered at the West End MARTA for the four hour trek to the Bankhead station.
What dawned as a chilly Sunday warmed rapidly while we explored the underpinnings of our city, an old rail junction all grown up. At times the trail was all our own, hastening the spring season.
Other sections we shared with a passing freight or with Abraham, who lives in a tree fort built by the Mad Housers of Georgia Tech.
As ever, the photo ops were stunning and the footing, at times, precarious.
Next Saturday's excursion covers the northwest corridor from Bankhead to the Lindbergh MARTA.
