On my morning walk, a passing stranger and I exchanged pleasantries. He was an older, African American guy. At the corner store, others like him could only speak of gun violence in tones of frustration. I, too hate this news, and like them, refuse to let that hatred devolve into fear. Our individual actions may not seem like much, but collectively we can bring healing change. So, act with love, mercy, and compassion.
