Dunwoody Cycle Chic
alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet decorated this proper Dutch bike for Neiman Marcus and Target. Beyond the trails of Liane Levetan Park, she wears a helmet (and heart rate monitor!) to ride in Mount Vernon for Dunwoody Village shopping errands and reports the sort of courtesy from motorists called the Mary Poppins effect. Thursday evenings the food trucks migrate northward, beer flows and music plays to a lively scene. It was encouraging to see so many families biking to that park. Joe Seconder of Bike Walk Dunwoody invited me to meet some of them and lend a lens to the advocacy. Next on his agenda is a Human-Powered Independence Day Parade Entry. Beat the heat with an 8am start from All Saints Catholic Church, 2443 Mount Vernon.

Indie Craft Experience, Act I
The May Heels On Wheels ride coincided with a visit to Decatur from Lauren and Travis of Small Room Collective, a travel trailer filled with crafty and vintage goodness. Yesterday history repeated itself when HOW riders took to the West End streets and Jaimee of Coast To Coast Vintage parked her wares at the Indie Craft Experience. Yes, these fellow travellers are friends. The fun continues today at Ambient Plus Studio, 585 Wells Street, SW.

At Fay Gold Gallery
The World According to Consumerism opened Thursday at
Fay Gold Gallery in the Westside Cultural Arts Center, giving us ten perspectives on remaining human in the world of commerce. Of note are four works by Patricia Villafane, who posed mannequins at an Ikea for a guerilla photography op.

Heels On Wheels: Go West!
What fun it was to look back on three years of Heels on Wheels. The ride returns to its Woodruff Park starting roots at 10am Saturday for an exploration of the West End. Susan Roe has planned a route that will pause at the Wren's Nest and Westview Cemetery before concluding with lunch at Smoke Ring in Castleberry Hill. If you haven't seen Mathilde Piard in a while, this might be good time to say thanks for all she has done and wish her well in Washington, DC. She will be missed, but we are getting a better National Public Radio with Mathilde as their new product manager for social and podcasts. RSVP via facebook.

Indie Craft Experience This Weekend
585 Wells Street, SW could be the happiest address in Atlanta this weekend, when the Indie Craft Experience once again visits Ambient Plus Studio. Come spread some cheer and lend your support to crafty locals. Our city will be a better place for it!

Smart Glass Dressing
Kathleen Plate celebrates the reduce, reuse, recycle ethic by turning old Coke bottles into cascading ringlets. Her Smart Glass designs have appeared on this blog before, as earrings worn to a Captain Planet Foundation gala, so when a friend offered to model one of her glass dresses, I scoured Decatur for a suitable location. Thank you, Worthmore Jewelers, for lending us something special.

In Miami Circle, Act III
Bella Bag's "Sip And Shop" celebrated news of their opening among the shops of Buckhead Atlanta later this summer. Door prizes were generous. Both wine and crowd sparkled, giving this blogger quite a treat. Among those present was fashion scribe Miss Beanie, resplendent in vintage ruffles, Vince Camuto and Nicholas Kirkwood. Her bag is the work of Monika Chiang. Thank you, Cassandra Connors and Hannah Amick.

Save The Dates: Food Truck Fashion Fridays
Yes, that print is vintage Pucci, upcycled into a clutch by the talented Sarah Sozo. She has joined forces with Jessica Caballero of The Cycle Of Style to bring their special glamour to Fashion Fridays this season at the Food Truck Park, 1850 Howell Mill Road. Three monthly dining and pop-up shopping events will take place from 5 'til 9 pm on June 20, July 18 and August 22. Remembering the great looks from a summer past of Food Truck Thursdays at Woodruff Arts Center, I look forward this year's convergence street food and street style. See you there!
