In Oakland Cemetery: American Afterlife
Summer has become quite the literary season for Oakland Cemetery. At a preview tour of Malts and Vaults it was my pleasure to make this portrait of Kate Sweeney, whom you may have heard on the airwaves of WABE. She was there to read from her book, American Afterlife: Encounters In The Customs Of Mourning, which devotes a chapter to Oakland as a Victorian archetype, The Cemetery's Cemetery.
