"Rise Up Atlanta"
What do the Ponce de Leon Library, Governor Nathan Deal, WonderRoot and the Druid Hills Country Club have in common? They are but four of the one hundred-plus individuals and organizations patronizing an installation by Charlie Brouwer for Flux Projects. Doing so cost them no money. Each lent a ladder to build this "metaphor for the aspirations of the whole community" and expects it to be returned in June (if not donated to the Atlanta Community ToolBank). In the mean time, we have something new to discover along the Path. While visiting our town, Brouwer gets around on his bike. He and Flux Projects intern Corina McCarthy-Fadel will be on-site for this weekend's Inman Park Festival.
While planning the installation, Brouwer found one of Kyle Brooks' Free Art pieces. This ladder resulted from their meeting. Corina dressed for work in the heat, letting shoes and jewelry display her personal style.
