Saturday In Marietta: Act II
This lady kindly allowed us our first portraits of the morning. The early sun was dodging clouds and gave a lesson in the subtleties of illumination. My preference is for gentle side lighting, which shows textures to advantage. Compare such an effect to that of diffused lighting here. The railroad leads nicely to a vanishing point and the low angle brings her height to meet the treetops. Heroic posing, indeed.
