At The Gateway Dedication, Act I
hat: Macy's
coat: Oakley
In the 1990's, Angier Springs Road was but a gravel track behind the Post Office. Today it makes an important point of access to the Eastside Trail and, later this year, the Gateway. A pedestrian link between the BeltLine and Historic Fourth Ward Park, it will feature both stairs and a switchback ramp for the thirty feet of elevation change between the sites on a tract donated by the Trust For Public Land. As Mayor Reed noted at the dedication, more than one million visitors have used the BeltLine. HFWP lies within view, but just beyond reach. Soon the two will form a powerful bond in what many are calling the best thing that's happened to Atlanta.
