May Day
A friend recently acquired an amazing trove of historical photographs, a finishing school student's personal album from the years 1907 through 1910 at National Park Seminary in Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC. The jeunesse dorée of a century ago played basketball in sailor dresses. Their finery would be welcome at Downton Abbey. While the images are well preserved, its pages are frail. Flat bed scanning was not possible, so I spent a rainy day painstakingly making photocopies by northern window light. Doing so was a privilege and one I look forward to sharing with Save Our Seminary.
